Problems

Are like wash machines. They twist us, spin us, and knock us around...But in the end we come out cleaner, brighter, and better than before

In the past eight months, I have been dealing with a very bad concussion. I am finally starting to feel better and get back into the swing of things. I was playing hockey when I got hit and everything spiraled downhill from there. However, I have just recently stopped having headaches and have been able to really live my life again.

Since I have been feeling better I have started to get back to sports.  I have been playing baseball rather often and have found that I enjoy it more than any other sport that I used to play.  Other than sports I have found many other things that I have grown to be more passionate about.  I have found that I enjoy things that I never thought I would have, such as math and drawing.

The other thing that I have realized is that you truly don’t realize what you have until you have lost it.  I never even imagined that the words, “I miss homework,” would ever come out of my mouth.  And I most certainly did not think that I would hate a break from school and learning.  Finally, the last thing that I realized is that it truly is important to make friends while you can so when situations like this come along, you have a group of people that miss you and want you back.  Although this whole concussion thing may seem like it was horrible, and it was, a lot of good things came from it that I would have never realized otherwise.

As a person who can attest to being injured, I can share in you sympathy, and also understand that good things do come out of injuries, great post Max!

"Like" Why must this word sully the English language?

It takes a lot of maturity to take something as bad as the concussion you went through and find some wisdom and good in it. Well done Max, I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better!

8 months is along time, unfortunate to see you go through something I only had to go through for a month. Concussions really do suck, the headaches, nausea, everything.
